"Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or to hatch." ~E.B. White, Charlotte's Web
When we returned from Italy a few weeks ago, we found this pleasant surprise right outside our dining room window! What beautiful, blue Robin's eggs.
We've been sneaking a peak of them every day, but the mother would get angry if she heard the quietest sound, or the opening of the window. So, we didn't open the window, or even the drapes, too often.
Well, they hatched over the weekend, and while she was out gathering food, I decided to sneak a couple of photos. They're blurry because I had to take them very quickly.
At first, they looked like dirty cotton balls:
And then, one opened its mouth, waiting for food:
Then the mother returned to protect her babies. Can you see her there on the right?
Nature and motherhood both are amazing things, aren't they?
Miracles spring up everywhere, if we take time out to notice them. Sometimes, they come at the most unexpected times. I hope you experience one this week.
