"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." ~E.B. White
Isn't that a great quote? I found it inside an Honest Tea bottle cap. I love the Black Forest Berry flavor the best. It has less sugar than most other teas, and comes in a glass bottle (the ones in the glass seem to taste better).
Since E.B. White is one of my favorite children's authors, I decided to look for some more of his quotes. Here are a few more (from Brainyquote.com) that I love:
"Genius is more often found in a cracked pot than in a whole one."
"We should all do what, in the long run, gives us joy, even if it is only picking grapes or sorting the laundry."
"I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority."
"It is easier for a man to be loyal to his club than to his planet; the bylaws are shorter, and he is personally acquainted with the other members."
...and last, but not least:
"Be obscure clearly."
Honest Tea, E.B. White's children's books, and thought-provoking quotes are just a few of my favorite things. What are some of yours?
Please note that I am behind with my book reviews, and will get back to them next week (starting with the one promised in yesterday's post). Have a wonderful weekend!
