Did you know that you can offset the environmental impact of running your blog simply by planting one tree? It actually would absorb the carbon dioxide that is emitted every time your site is being viewed.
Well, I've planted a few trees in my backyard over the past few years, but not everyone has the time, motivation or the space to do so. Well, now you can have someone plant one for you - specifically to offset your blog emissions and to reforest the Plumas National Forest in Northern California!
Here are the details from the My blog is carbon neutral web site:
"For every single one of the participating blogs, “Make it Green” and “Arbor Day Foundation” are planting a tree in Plumas National Forest. In the spring of 2010, Douglas-fir, red and white firs, and incense cedars will be planted alongside ponderosa pine and sugar pine trees. These new trees will help prevent soot and soil runoff into Plumas’ precious water supplies."
How can you participate? You can find out here.
Sometimes, it's small things we do that collectively make a very big difference. Please join me in rooting for the trees!
