With Earth Day coming up this Thursday, April 22nd, I thought I'd gather all of my 2009 posts relating to the natural world. Spring is in the air, and it's a great time to talk about the environment, the crazy weather we've been having, trees, gardens, life cycles, insects, the night sky, the beach, butterflies, the water cycle, etc....
With everything springing to new life around us, it's also a great time to inspire the creative writer within your child and yourself! So, please feel free to use any of these books as starting points not only for discussion, but for journal writing and the creation of artwork as well.
Here are just some of the many children's book posts I put together during the first few months of writing this blog:
If you've been following Moms Inspire Learning from the beginning (February 2009), you know that I spent most of last year reviewing, recommending, and connecting all kinds of children's books. It really is where my passion lies, but one that prevented me from bringing up other related topics, such as literacy, lifelong learning, the need for libraries, etc...
Well, I tried really hard to stay away from picture books these last few months, but I do miss them! I'm trying to figure out a way to work them back into my life in a way that works best for me and my readers. So, I may be blogging here less, but I'm working behind the scenes to reflect upon and reevaluate my first year of blogging. It's taking me a while, I know, but I'm not one to make hasty decisions. These days, the questions often mean a lot more than the answers!
In the meantime, if you have any comments, suggestions, questions, or general words of wisdom for me, please feel free to leave me a comment or an email.
Enjoy Earth Day! It's one event we should celebrate every day.
