I really miss writing about picture books! So, when I was asked to tell you about Laura Numeroff's story hour tour this week, I jumped at the chance.

I tend to write about lesser known picture books, but both of my children really enjoyed popular ones like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (If You Give...) and If You Give a Pig a Pancake (If You Give...) when they were toddlers and preschoolers. StrawberryGirl even created an If You Give a Pig a Pancake game when she was in Kindergarten! Players had to go around the board earning pancakes. Oh, what fond memories...

Boy Lost in Another Sports Book

There's a book out there for everyone. You just have to seek out topics and authors which capture your interest. My son has proven that time and time again.

Boy Lost in a Book Again!

I haven't updated you about my own children's reading selections in a while, so I thought I'd change it up over the next couple of posts to give you an update.

Someone asked me if I ever ran out of things to write about. The answer is definitely NO! I have way too much to write about, and not enough time to do so. As you know, I've been trying to blog less - it's really hard for me, though!

The Internet is not Superman

The internet is going to save us.

Superman is too, you know?

Many people truly believe that the internet is going to save the world.

Change it, it certainly has.

Is it all a bed of roses and a sky of flying capes, though?

Whatever Happened to Moderation?

A mere 19 hours without electricity this weekend really got me thinking. I love blogging, as well as reading and connecting online; but at the same time, I know my limits. If I don't find time to step away and live the real, unplugged life, then my eyes start to burn, my brain gets fried, and I get very cranky!

A Secret School

We had a severe storm this past weekend, and the wind was so strong that it left us out of power for a full day. My children enjoyed it at first, but then started to get frustrated. As for me, I really enjoyed the "plugged out" time. We had the opportunity to just sit and talk - to REALLY listen to each other.

Am I a failure if I don't read with my kids?

Is it just me, or do you feel like you're juggling multiple worlds lately? Family. Health. Nutrition. Social activities. Technology. Work. The list goes on and on...

I sometimes wish I could split myself in half in order to get more done, don't you? It's hard not to feel like that these days.
