It's a really busy month! Not only are Valentine's Day and the celebration of the Chinese New Year just around the corner, but so are the Olympics and US Presidents' week!
I'm just writing a quick post to give you the links to a couple of prior posts that may come in handy for you over the next couple of weeks. Here they are:
- Global Awareness, Parts 1 and 2 contain picture book recommendations which will easily prompt discussions about geography and culture, especially for the preschool to age 8 age range. They can be used as a springboard to a discussion of the Olympics, especially if you have a world map or globe handy, as well as some photos and newspaper/magazine articles about the athletes.
- A Trip to the White House contains some extraordinary picture books (for all ages, even adults) which can be used to generate a discussion of US Presidents.
It's been a very snowy February so far, here in the Northeastern USA. I hope you're having a great month.
Enjoy all the festivities!
