As a parent, you are your child's first and most influential teacher. How you interact and learn with your child MATTERS, especially during the first five years.
When children do not receive the love and guidance they so desperately need, the negative effects can last a lifetime, as per this video from Ounce of Prevention Fund:

It doesn't matter who you are, or how much money you have. As long as you have a kind heart and access to a public library, you can make a difference in the life of a child.
So, here's to all of the parents, grandparents, caregivers, preschool teachers, children's librarians, and volunteers who interact with children on a daily basis. Living and/or working with children may not always be easy, but the impact of those early interactions can last a lifetime. Thank you for making the world a better place for all of us!
