Okay, so I started to tell you about our trip to Vermont last week. As you can see, we were literally surrounded by GREEN! This photo was taken right near the winery we visited. I bet you didn't think there were wineries in Vermont, did you?
Anyway, the most challenging part of our trip was climbing up a mountain! After a solid hour of climbing uphill, we found this beautiful lake at the top:

It was so peaceful up there, and it was well worth the time and effort. It took us half an hour to walk back down, and there were mini waterfalls and rocks all along the way.
Well, my legs were sore for three days after that! Luckily, there was a pool and a hot tub back near our cabin. Swimming is much easier on the muscles...But I wouldn't have traded that experience for anything.
We also took a shorter hike one day, and found a gorgeous waterfall. I took plenty of photographs, which I'll share with you next week.
I wish we could send every person who pollutes our air and water, and who refuses to believe in global warming, to Vermont for a few days. I'm certain that being immersed in nature would make them change their ways.
Seriously, when you're surrounded by nature, it really makes you think about the wonder of it all. You come to realize that you're just a tiny piece of something that's larger than life itself. No amount of money or possessions could ever come close to it. And most importantly, nature is not something to be messed around with!!!!
So, I hope you enjoyed my photos. Oh, while we stayed in a log cabin this time, we also have stayed at a fantastic family resort during our two previous visits. Whether you visit during the summer, or want to ski in the winter, Smugglers' Notch Resort is the place to stay. I'm not being paid to say that (there's currently no paid advertising on this site). I really mean it. I've been there!
But wait! I can't forget to mention the famous Trapp Family Lodge! Here's a photo:

No matter where you are, try to get out and enjoy nature this weekend! Put away that Blackberry or iPhone, and just do it.
Enjoy your weekend!
