Have you heard about Book Blogger Appreciation Week? It's a celebration of book blogging, and the creative genius behind it is Amy Riley of My Friend Amy blog.
Since I started blogging six months ago, I've discovered some wonderful literature blogs, and I am finding more every day. Whether you blog about books, or just like to read them, you won't want to miss this special event. So, please mark your calendar for the second annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week, which will take place between September 14th and 18th. There will be special guest posts, awards, giveaways, and more...
Another exciting announcement:
I almost fell off my chair this morning when I found out that I've been nominated for an award in the "Best New Blog" category! With the many extraordinary blogs out there, I feel truly honored to even be considered for such an award.
I have no idea who might have nominated my blog, but I want to express my sincere gratitude. My blog is like one tiny star in a sky of many, and the fact that you thought of me means more than you'll ever know.
I'd also like to send a special thank you out to Amy Riley, and to all of the other people who are working tirelessly to put this whole event together. It's great to be able to connect the book blogosphere dots...
Good luck, and congratulations to all of the other nominees! Keep up the great work.
Now, I have some work to do. I have to submit 5 out of my 158 posts for consideration by the panel of judges, and I have to do so by tomorrow night! It will probably take me hours to decide; so if you have any favorite posts, please feel free to let me know.
I will choose a post from 5 out of 11 of the following categories:
- Diversity/Tolerance/Global Awareness
- Especially for Parents
- Folklore, Fairy Tales, and Legends
- Friday Photo Fun
- From my Kids to Yours: Chapter Books
- Healthy, Green Families
- Math Resources
- Picture Books – fiction
- Picture Books – nonfiction
- Rainy Day Activities
- Raising Readers
Enough about me! Please mark your calendar for the week of September 14th. To learn more about this special event, you can find a great interview of Amy Riley at the Follow the Reader blog. You can also find out last year's nominees and winners by clicking here.
