Moms Inspire Learning: Gardening for All Ages

Tomorrow is the first day of spring! That means it's time to start thinking about gardening. Many of us do not have time to maintain a full garden of fruits and vegetables, but with a few simple resources and tools, any of us can learn about the process by germinating seeds.  It's a fun and inexpensive way to spend quality time with our children. I am a Mother

I am a mother.
I wear many hats, depending upon the time of day.
I often find it hard to get everything done.
I wake up early in the morning.
I go to sleep, exhausted, late at night.
I help others, but can't seem to find time to help myself.
I wish there were more hours in the day.

I am also a snowflake.
I am unique in every way.
I glide down gently from the sky, but
I am not alone.
I am one in a million.
I fall faster and faster, until all
I see is a blanket of white.
I suddenly am no longer moving, and wonder if
I have ended my journey.
I try to think of what to do next.
I have two choices.
I can hide under this blanket until I melt, or
I can unite with the other snowflakes for a common cause.

I am ready to turn my power of one into the power of many.
I am a mother on a mission.

A Healthy Recipe to Start Your Day

Many of us do not have time to bake homemade muffins these days, but once a while they can be a wonderful treat. I've been making these muffins for many years now.  With whole wheat flour, carrots, and apples as ingredients, Family Fun's Good Morning Muffins are healthy and delicious.
