I am a Mother
I am a mother.
I wear many hats, depending upon the time of day.
I often find it hard to get everything done.
I wake up early in the morning.
I go to sleep, exhausted, late at night.
I help others, but can't seem to find time to help myself.
I wish there were more hours in the day.
I am also a snowflake.
I am unique in every way.
I glide down gently from the sky, but
I am not alone.
I am one in a million.
I fall faster and faster, until all
I see is a blanket of white.
I suddenly am no longer moving, and wonder if
I have ended my journey.
I try to think of what to do next.
I have two choices.
I can hide under this blanket until I melt, or
I can unite with the other snowflakes for a common cause.
I am ready to turn my power of one into the power of many.
I am a mother on a mission.
Are you a busy mom who would like to find small ways to improve your life, while at the same time helping others? It's easier than you think.
I've been a mom for almost 14 years now. During my search for a more meaningful career, I realized that I had already changed the world in small ways. The way I shop and the way I donate is helping, in my own small way, to create a better world for my own children, as well as for generations to come. Once you realize the power you possess as a consumer, you'll see how everyday shopping can transform the world.
Here are my top five reasons to become an educated consumer:
1. Every purchase impacts our planet. If we support companies that don't respect it, we are only hurting ourselves in the process. We all have a right to breathe clean air and to drink pure water.
2. Every purchase impacts our families. What we bring into our houses can help or harm us. Do not make yourself a guinea pig by buying products that contain potentially toxic ingredients. Read food and other product labels and be suspicious of ingredients that you don't recognize.
3. Every purchase is a strong reflection of ourselves. Our children learn through our example. If we buy inferior, unhealthy products, they will too.
4. There is growing evidence that many chronic diseases have a strong link to environmental causes. One way to minimize your risk is to support companies that care about your health and the planet.
5. It doesn't take a lot of time or effort to change your habits. One small change each week by a lot of people could make a big difference for us all.
We are all busy these days. You might think that you don't have time to educate yourself, but even 5 minutes a day can make a difference. To get started, click here. If we all make a commitment to take small steps toward making our voices heard, then soon our voices will echo around the world.
Please join me in supporting a healthier planet.
